Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-29

This is a draft. Replace with text reviewed by your own counsel before launch.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account on GrantWriter you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. What you get

An AI-assisted workspace for drafting grant proposals — client profiles, funder records, RFP intake, AI drafting, sharing, exports. Feature availability depends on your subscription tier (see pricing).

3. Your responsibilities

  • You're responsible for the content you upload and the proposals you submit to funders. AI drafts are a starting point — you must review, edit, and verify every fact.
  • You have permission to upload any document you put into the service (client profiles, RFP PDFs, etc.).
  • You won't use the service to harass, defame, or deceive others.
  • You won't try to break, scrape at scale, or reverse-engineer the service.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Plans are billed monthly via Stripe. You can cancel any time from the customer portal — your access continues through the end of the current billing period. We don't refund partial months unless required by law. Tier limits (proposals/month, team seats) reset on the rolling 30-day window from your subscription start.

5. AI output

AI drafts are generated by third-party language models (currently provided by Anthropic). They can be wrong, biased, or hallucinate facts. You are the human in the loop — review every AI draft before submitting it to a funder. We make no warranty that AI output is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular grant.

6. Ownership

Everything you write, upload, or generate in your workspace is yours. We don't claim any ownership over your proposals or client data. The GrantWriter software, design, and brand belong to us.

7. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee a specific SLA on paid tiers below Enterprise. Planned maintenance is announced in advance.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from settings. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with prior notice except in cases of abuse, fraud, or security risk.

9. Liability

The service is provided "as is." Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We're not liable for indirect damages (lost grants, missed deadlines, etc.). Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits — they apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Changes

We'll email you at least 14 days before any material change to these terms.
